How do I use XREAL Game Controller with XREAL AURA?​

Press and hold X + Home to enter XR Mode. After pairing and connecting the controller to XREAL AURA, press the Home button once to open the Launcher, or press and hold the Home button to launch Gemini.

Can this controller only be used with AURA?​

No. The controller also supports a wide range of devices, including Android XR, Android, Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac), and PCs. Please refer to the user manual for connection instructions.

What is the relationship between XREAL Game Controller and GameSir?​

XREAL Game Controller is a co-branded controller customized in collaboration with GameSir.

Where can I download GameSir Connect or driver software?​

How do I connect the XREAL Game Controller to PC wirelessly?​

Plug the included 2.4G wireless dongle into your PC USB port. Turn on the controller by holding the Logo button until the indicator connects to the dongle.

How do I switch between PC Mode and Bluetooth Mode on XREAL Game Controller?​

Toggle the mode switch located on the bottom/back of the controller to your desired connection mode (2.4G / Wired / Bluetooth).

Whenever I press a button, the Logo Button flashes red and the buttons are being repeatedly pressed and can't be held. What do I do?​

The turbo function is activated. Hold the M button together with the target button to disable turbo for that single button. Alternatively, double-tap the M button to turn off turbo for all assigned buttons.

What is polling rate, and how does it relate to latency?​

Polling rate refers to how frequently a controller reports its input data to the host device (PC or console), measured in Hertz (Hz). Higher polling rates reduce response delay (latency), offering faster execution in competitive games.

I have my controller set to X (8000Hz, for example), but the test isn't getting that result. What's going on?​

Polling rate refers to the frequency at which the controller checks and sends input data to the host system. High polling rate tests are influenced by system CPU load, background processes, and USB port bandwidth. Minor variances between test utilities or software environments are normal.

How do I enable the Zero Deadzone mode?​

Hold the Mode button and press down the left or right joystick button until the controller vibrates. This toggles between Raw Mode (zero dead zone) and Circular joystick trajectory modes.

My A Button and B Button and X Button and Y Button are flipped. What do I do?​

Hold the M button + A button. The controller will vibrate to indicate that the face button layout has been swapped.

Does the controller have overcharging protection? Will charging stop automatically once the battery is fully charged?​

Yes. XREAL Game Controller is equipped with overcharging protection, whether it is charged using the charging dock or directly via cable. Charging automatically stops once the battery is fully charged. The indicator light normally turns off when charging is complete.

The back buttons don't do anything. How can I use them?​

The rear extra buttons output null inputs by default, which means they carry no assigned function until remapped. You can configure these buttons through the GameSir mobile app, GameSir Connect PC software, or the button combinations in the user manual.

To assign mappings:

  1. Hold the M button + target rear button until the indicator light flashes.
  2. Press the buttons you wish to assign.

To clear mappings:

  1. Hold the M button + target rear button until the indicator light flashes.
  2. Press the same rear button again to reset its configuration.

Can I buy replacement parts?​

Connection​

My XREAL Game Controller doesn't turn on at all when connected to my PC. What should I do?​

Try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. The controller works best with USB 3.0 or later ports. Try different USB ports on your PC, preferably those directly on the motherboard (rear I/O panel).
  2. Check whether the cable is fully inserted into both the controller and the PC. Try using a different USB-C data cable.
  3. Test the controller on a different PC to rule out system-specific issues.

Controllers​

My controller is stuck on or off. What should I do?​

Use the reset pinhole located on the rear of the controller.

How do I map Generic HID Controllers on Steam, such as XREAL Game Controller via Bluetooth?​

Configure the Generic Controller in Steam:

  1. Launch Steam and navigate to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings.
  2. Select Enable Steam Input for Generic Gamepads, then click Begin Setup.

Important: When prompted to press the Home/Guide button and Share/Capture button during device input setup, press the A button to skip these prompts.

Software​

How do I keep my controller up to date, and how do I install firmware on it?​

Dongle firmware update​

  1. Standard update: Connect the controller to the dongle, launch GameSir Connect, and click Update Firmware.
  2. Forced update: Hold the dongle's sync button while plugging the dongle into your PC. Keep GameSir Connect open; the software will automatically install the latest firmware.

Controller firmware update​

  1. Standard update: Connect the controller to your PC via cable, then click Update Firmware in GameSir Connect.
  2. Forced update: Hold Mode + X + B while plugging the controller into your PC. Keep GameSir Connect open to install the latest firmware.

How do I update firmware manually if automatic update fails in GameSir Connect?​

Controller firmware update​

Launch GameSir Connect on your PC without connecting the controller first. Hold the Logo + Menu buttons, then connect the controller to the PC via USB cable to activate manual firmware upgrade.

Dongle firmware update​

If you encounter wireless connection issues with the dongle:

  1. Turn off the controller by holding the Logo button for 5 seconds, then unplug the dongle.
  2. Open GameSir Connect on your PC.
  3. Hold the pairing button on the dongle while plugging the dongle into your PC.
  4. If performed correctly, an update window will appear.

GameSir Connect is in the wrong language. How do I change it?​

On the main page displaying all previously connected controllers, select the icon in the upper-right corner to change the app language.

To return to this main page after entering a controller configuration page, disconnect your controller or press the AppHome button.

Troubleshooting​

My microphone or headset audio doesn't work when connected to my XREAL Game Controller. What should I do?​

Ensure the headset is fully inserted and sits flush with the port; push it in firmly. A common cause is that the 3.5 mm connector is not pushed in all the way.

I'm having stick or trigger issues on my XREAL Game Controller. What should I do?​

Try performing the Stick & Trigger Calibration through the app or manually.

To calibrate manually:

  1. Ensure the controller is powered off. Connect the controller to your PC or console using the USB-C cable.
  2. Hold the View + Menu + Gemini (Logo) buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until the Gemini button light flashes rapidly, indicating that calibration mode is active.
  3. Slowly rotate both joysticks at their maximum radius three times.
  4. Press both triggers (LT and RT) all the way down to their physical limits three times.
  5. Press the View + Menu + Gemini (Logo) buttons again to complete and save the calibration.

My trigger immediately registers full input and releases when I barely move my finger, and calibration didn't help. Is it broken?​

Check whether Hair Trigger Mode is accidentally enabled. Adaptive Hair Trigger may cause abnormal input behavior that can be mistaken for a hardware fault. Hold the M button together with the affected trigger (LT or RT) to disable this function.

I'm having issues with the XREAL Game Controller's gyroscope. What should I do?​

Place the controller flat on a horizontal surface. Hold the Mode + Share/Screenshot buttons for 3 seconds. The Logo LED will flash orange and white alternately at a rapid rate.

When I use my controller on my PC, it moves the mouse and activates keyboard inputs or shortcuts. What should I do?​

If the controller does not work properly in HID Mode, the conflict is most likely caused by software such as Steam Input running on your PC. Disable the Desktop Layout:

  1. Launch Steam and navigate to Steam > Settings > Controller.
  2. Select Desktop Layout, then click Edit.
  3. Select Disable Steam Input.
